Achelous Energy signs MoU with Bangladesh Green Housing and Energy Limited

Achelous Energy has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Housing Energy Limited (GHEL) to undertake a pilot project using its innovative FITS technology in Bangladesh.

Both companies have worked together in the last three months to identify suitable pilot projects, with the aim of delivering FITS hydrokinetic river technology in country in 2022.  The pilot project will potentially use Achelous Energy’s full-scale 200kW demonstrator currently being built in Myanmar, and will deliver clean, affordable energy to off-grid communities or the Bangladesh national grid.

Achelous Energy’s Co-founder and director Tim Wood said:

“Forming this partnership with Green Housing and Energy Limited, who are a leading solar mini-grid developer in Bangladesh, brings us a further step closer to implementing our technology in a commercial setting, and proving the viability of our business model. It is a truly exciting time for Achelous Energy to be entering this market and making a genuine impact to climate change and energy access poverty.”
