Tidal Power

A never-ending,
predictable power source

Tidal stream describes the hydrokinetic energy capture of oceanic tidal flows. The regularity and predictability of the world’s tides mean that this presents a highly attractive prospect in renewable energy generation, easing the strain of intermittent generation by wind and solar on power grids.

The tides around the UK contain almost 1/10th of the world’s accessible tidal resource, and could supply up to 10% of the country’s annual electricity demand.  To match the UK’s world-leading Net Zero ambitions, there is also now strong government support in place for tidal stream energy in the form of ringfenced subsidies for tidal installations.

Hydrokinetic energy capture of our tides presents a huge opportunity in our energy transition - and in the fight against global warming.

Certain power in an uncertain world

In a world of shifting geopolitics, the case for autonomous power is becoming ever stronger.  The consistency of tidal energy puts it front-and-centre of the renewable technologies available to the UK.

Hydrokinetic for tidal

Our patented HKS.t power plant has an output of up to 1MW. It's designed to be installed offshore in large, multi-platform tidal energy farms to create grid-scale electricity generation projects.
